As today Rupert is celebrating his 89th birthday, perhaps he has lost touch with current prices. When a single 1973 Rupert annual cost £23,000 two years ago, the new Hall does not sound so expensive. At that rate of inflation, rebuilding the old Memorial Hall would cost £138,000,000. Happy Birthday Rupert

I’m quite gobsmacked that the £700’000+ raised for this hall didn’t cover for the cost of a few flowers and shrubs. amazing.
