Today details of the route of the Olympic Torch have been released. The torch will pass quite close to Parwich, the day before Wakes Saturday, on Friday 29th June. The exact detail is still unknown, but on that day, the 800g torch will have gone up the Heights of Abraham at Matlock, through Darley Dale, Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne and then will stay overnight in Derby. On the Friday evening there will be events to celebrate its arrival in the city.
