Thank you to everyone for making the children’s resuscitation course on Saturday so successful  – to the 29 participants who made the day enjoyable and for the mutual support and encouragement you all gave.  And of course Rachel and other members of the WI who supplied tea, coffee, cakes and soup – and of course invaluable emotional care during the breaks.

We are hoping to put on another day course later in the year – please let us know if you would like to put your name down.

If you cannot fit a full day in, but would like some personal teaching on resuscitating a young baby or child in difficulties, do please let us know.   We hope to have our own child dollies soon and would be more than willing to fit in with you and pass on the knowledge we picked up – just let us know a time and place!

Many thanks to you all.

Jean and Martin Compton, Parwich First Responders  (529)

Yesterday 29 of us  attended probably the most important course in our lives – learning how to save a child’s life – that child could be yours!

Course was supported by the Charity ‘Just A Few Minutes’, organized by Alan Gibson consultant neonatologist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and staff from Sheffield & Chesterfield Hospitals. We were dealing with the most precious of things, a child’s life, but never has a course seems so compelling and interesting. Considering the seriousness of the subject, at times we were in fits of laughter, especially when faced with some of the ‘real life’ scenarios and the initial ways in which we tried to deal with the situation.  Click on any of the photos to enlarge. Stone Trough Stolen.

Between 19th and 26th Jan 2009, a stone trough was taken from a garden in Parwich. The owner feels it would have taken a couple of people to move it. If anyone notices any one acting suspicious around gardens, or just in general, can they please contact us. 5/6 weeks ago we had one taken from outside a house at Kirk Ireton, and we’ve had one go recently from Brassington. It may be that someone is now targeting these sort of items.

Thank you PC Ian Cooper
