Village Games Initative

Parwich Parish Council invite your responses to:

Derbyshire Dales District Council have an exciting new sports initiative called Derbyshire Village Games.

Villages across rural Derbyshire will be able to start new sports clubs and activities, host festivals and competitions. A village games co-ordinator has been appointed to provide support, advice and guidance to communities who want more and better sports opportunities within their local area. This will be discussed at the Parish Council meeting on Tuesday 05 October 2010.

If there is interest in the initiative the Parish Council will invite the co-ordinator to a meeting. Please contact the clerk on ppccl@fsmail.net

You can find out more about the initiative on Facebook Group Page or at the Derbyshire Sport website or at the Community Sports Trust website.

Is this of interest in relation to any of our existing events (Wakes Hill Race or Parwich Panoramic Five) or to the existing clubs/groups (bowls, tennis, cricket, pilates, etc)?  Alternatively will this be relevant to possible new activities in the new Memorial Hall (e.g. badmington, indoor bowls, yoga)?

So if you are interested, come along to Tuesday’s meeting or email the clerk on ppccl@fsmail.net
