Have you seen our cat?

Update – Hamish McT has been found – his splendid tail was tightly wrapped around  brambles in the field behind Lee and Sam’s.  He was a bit shaky and needs to go to the vets shortly to have his tail checked over for a suspected break / injury. However, he can’t be too bad as he has eaten plenty and is now on the bed, fast asleep.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been in touch, looked for him and offered to help – we really appreciate it – he is a very lucky cat (and we feel so very lucky too)! And to Shaun M for releasing him from the briars!

Oil Price Going Higher

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Crude rises toward $64 a barrel and with a surge in demand for heating oil, rates edge higher again this weekend.

With Christmas just a month away and delivery times of two weeks, if you require a top up before Christmas, please order either this weekend or next at the latest. Please do check your oil levels and ensure you have allowed plenty of time for delivery and can you also check the condition of your tank? We have seen an increase in suppliers refusing to deliver due to tanks with cracks or in poor condition. We do not want any members to have a cold Christmas plus as Christmas moves closer we expect rates to rise!

We have secured a rate and our clubs group oil order terms for this weekend are as follows:

Rate: £0.4231 per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

The Sycamore has kindly agreed to store them. The sand should arrive this week.

Dora’s puppies are now quite mobile and seemed determined to barbecue themselves crawling around the log burner. Has anyone a fire guard I could borrow for about a month?
Don’t mind buying it if necessary.
Jill. 353

Update: Jill has been lent a fireguard. Thanks to all.

Thanks to DDDC for the following information:

For the 10th year in a row, Derbyshire Dales District Council is encouraging people to ‘shop local’ this Christmas by introducing free parking across the district from 1st December.
The free parking from 2pm throughout December comes on top of residents’ parking concessions that allow local people to park free every day of the year up to 11am and after 4pm.
This means Dales residents have free parking for 21 hours each day over the festive period, which helps local people and local traders.
Free parking extends to midnight each day and motorists are reminded not to leave anything valuable in their vehicles as the lead up to Christmas can also be a choice time for thieves.
