Oil Price Steady

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Brent Crude hovers at $61 a barrel still, but due to strong demand, kerosene is now in short supply in some areas, with some terminals even rationing supply. Delivery times are 7 to 10 working days.

TIP: Please double check the level of oil in your tank before you place your order so you can judge the correct quantity to order. Some suppliers will charge extra if they can’t deliver the amount ordered, as they have to cover the costs involved with transporting this fuel back to the depot.

Rate:  £0.4900 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Oil Price Up

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Oil Prices are up this week with Brent Crude costing around $64 a barrel, as tensions remain high in the Middle East after last weekends drone attacks. Added to this, and due to strong demand last weekend, Kerosene is also in short supply in some areas with some terminals rationing supply. Delivery times are 7 to 10 working days.

TIP – Pre-winter checks: With winter on its way, please check the condition of your tank. Many suppliers require their drivers to inspect the tank for cracks, sags and whether the tank is fully supported across the base. They may not deliver if the driver finds a problem or is not able to carry out a full inspection.

Therefore, please ensure the driver has unrestricted access to your tank. If in doubt, please ask your boiler engineer to inspect the tank as soon as you can.

Rate:  £0.5000 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Oil Price Steady

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Brent Crude is sitting steady this week at $60/$61 a barrel still. However, suppliers are getting busier as we head into the autumn, so it is a good time to top up your tank to prepare for the colder weather. Delivery times are 5 to 10 working days.

TIP – Pre-winter checks: Have you serviced your boiler recently? If not, it would also be a good time to get this booked in to prepare for the winter months ahead.

Over time sludge and deposit can form in your tank, so it is a good idea to upgrade your fuel to premium fuel with an Exocet additive. Exocet additives lower carbon emissions, stabilise fuel, clean injectors, inhibit sludge formation in the tank and improve overall fuel performance. Additives can be purchased from The Oil-Club Shop. If you have an AGA, then please ensure you order the cooker additive.

Rate:  £0.4535 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Dog Found

UPDATE: the dog has been reunited with his owner.

A dog has been found behind Sycamore Cottages – he is approx. 2 years old, light brown and white collie cross with pink nose.

He has a collar but no tag.  He could have come into the village over the fields from Tissington.

At present he is with Jacqui and Paul but they can’t keep him for long. Can anyone help or does anyone know who he might belong to – if so please call Jacqui on 390194.

A fast-living, cynical London music executive (Danny Mays) heads to a remote Cornish village on a stag weekend where he’s pranked by his boss (Noel Clarke) into trying to sign a group of shanty singing fishermen (led by James Purefoy). He becomes the ultimate fish out of water as he struggles to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band and their families (including Tuppence Middleton) who value friendship and community over fame and fortune. As he’s drawn deeper into the traditional way of life he’s forced to re-evaluate his own integrity and ultimately question what success really means.

Certificate 12

Guardian**** “Corny it may be –but this gentle, sweet-natured comedy has warmth and a certain X factor of likability, helped by big-hearted performances from a cast including Daniel Mays and Tuppence Middleton. It’s inspired by the true story of the Fisherman’s Friends, an all-male a capella folk singing group from Port Isaac in Cornwall who in the noughties became an unexpected hit for their authentic sea shanties.
