Oil Price Holding Steady

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Oil prices hold steady this week with Brent Crude hovering at around $62 a barrel. Estimated delivery times are between 7 to 10 working days*. Please allow plenty of time for your delivery, and if you are running low this group order may not be suitable due to the delivery times.

However, with Christmas just over 3 weeks away, if you require heating oil before Christmas, please do not wait any longer. Please note rates tend to increase as demand on suppliers increase and delivery slots become booked up.

TIP: Have you checked your tank level recently? It is a good idea to make a visual inspection, just to confirm your meter is working correctly to avoid expensive emergency deliveries before Christmas. At the same time you can check the condition of your tank for any sags and cracks. Suppliers are obliged by the environment agency and their insurance to only deliver fuel to safe and sound tanks.

Rate:  £0.4650 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Managing Flood Water

The Parish Council has sent us the following useful information-

The recent rain and flow from springs has prompted the Parish Council to review the measures in place to manage the risk of flooding in the village.

Our lead flood authority is Derbyshire County Council and reports of flooding problems can be made to them here. Reporting flooding emergencies.

Useful information is also available available on the Parish Council’s own website here. Advice on flooding. This includes the availability of sand bags in the village.

Finally, like Derbyshire County Council, the Parish Council would like to take the opportunity to remind all land and property owners with watercourses of their responsibility for keeping them clear enough to allow the free flow of water. Watercourses include man made ditches as well as natural brooks and streams. Debris can be removed and bank vegetation cut back, but the watercourse should not be altered. If there is a watercourse on the boundary of your property you are responsible up to the middle of it. For more in formation see the government site Owning a watercourse.

Oil Price Going Up?

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Oil prices up this this week with Brent Crude passing $63 a barrel on news that OPEC may extend output cut to June 2020. Estimated delivery times are between 7 to 10 working days*.

However with Christmas a month away, if you require heating oil before Christmas, I would recommend ordering this weekend. A) to be sure you have oil before Christmas and B) to avoid a surge in prices as demand on suppliers increases noticeably the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Also please check your tank levels to be sure. Emergency deliveries during December can be expensive so I would recommend a visual check on your oil level!

TIP: Overtime water can build up in your tank due to condensation. To prevent unwanted water taking up space in your tank and causing issues we recommend using a Water Scavenger, which will absorb contaminated water. It is simple to use, just fix the cord to the tank and drop in the scavenger, it will absorb up any water and you can then dispose of it. Or if you would like to test for water, you can purchase a Water Test Kit. Please visit The Club Store for more information.

Rate:  £0.4525 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])
