Yet again there are two features on Parwich in the Ashbourne News Telegraph out today. The main one is an article on the closure of Parwich Methodist Chapel, with the final service on the annual Chapel Anniversary, 3-30pm Sunday 4th May, followed by refreshments in the Memorial Hall. The second is a short feature and photo of Parwich Lees Cottage in the property section, on the market with Boxall Brown & Jones.
There is also a feature on All Saints’ Church at Bradbourne, which is hosting an art exhibition along with its flower festival (Thursday 1st May to Monday 5th May), don’t forget you saw this here first.
Do let us know if I missed any other mentions (I did look for the Darts news but could not find it).

Yes, we’re in the Darts news again! Top of paragraph 4.
And here’s a link to the online version of the Methodist Chapel piece.
I have worked out why I keep missing the Darts news. It is on the Ashbourne Telegraph’s website but not in the actual paper.
The darts is in the actual paper (inside back page this week i think) comes under the sport section tim rider had a good finish or somthing for the pub. the pub and Legion both have teams and appear to have done well this season. which is good however i think they will still be seperated by a division next year so no local derby just yet which is a shame.
Many thanks for pointing this out. Though now I have seen the article in the paper it is embarrassing to have to admit that I missed such an obvious feature.
Parwich Church was on the telly to night. It made a brief appearance in the sports section when they were discusing derbyshire and the effect the 2012 olympics would have on the east midlands.
on BBC East Midlands today
Thanks for letting us know, Bill. The clip can be viewed by clicking here, at least until Wednesday’s show: click on the top left “Watch Now” button under the caption “See the latest programme in full.” Parwich Church makes its appearance about 75% of the way through the show, in the middle of an interview with the sportsman Jonathan Edwards. (Apparently we stand to gain “fringe benefits” from the 2012 Games… well, it’s a nice thought at any rate… )
