There must have been between 40-50 of us gathered in The Sycamore for the Coffee Morning. It was a super morning and a great opportunity to catch up on local news and just have a good gossip. Janet had a fire roaring and the cakes supplied by many and organised by Marian were a treat to see and even nicer to try. They surpass many a tea room. Steve kept the coffee flowing and I am sure that there are many people to thank. So thank you to everyone who came & for Janet for hosting the event – we look forward to a repeat of this event.

Sorry – just can’t help myself here – we really need a caption competition on the second photo! Any starters for 10 as to what Mr. Shields and Mrs. Chambers might be discussing whilst so casually observing Mrs. Linnell delighting in her slice of cake?
Sorry, that should read third photo…….
Bob – can’t even guess….
Many thanks Janet and Steve – it was a really good event and great for me to meet some new people and also to see so many different faces in the pub!
Rosemary was telling Donald that the way to a girl’s heart was through her tummy and Mrs Linnell was just demonstrating this. Donald wondered if this was her past Army Training. Who knows, you cant believe its not butter.
Well, close inspection of the photo is inconclusive. It could be butter, but I can’t believe Nia would tuck into 1/2lb of butter in full view of the pub. That being said, it would certainly explain the look of utter(ly) incredulity on the faces of Doanld and Rosemary….
Could be stodgy lemmon curd?
Graham it’s 23.24 – go to bed
Is Mr Shields saying, “The last time I saw something like this was in Cool Hand Luke!”
Sorry Nia, I just couldn’t resist.
This photo was only included because I knew that Nia would take it in the spirit it was intended – there are not many people who would take these comments in such good heart. Thank you Nia.
Kevin, – it definitely isn’t a boiled egg, but it could be a butter eating competition.
