starts its 2008/09 season next week. The regular showings of recent mainstream films continue at the Memorial Hall on the second Friday of the month:

As a new departure we are trialing an alternative film night on the fourth Tuesday of each month, showing classic, art or foreign language films. The provisional dates are:
- Tuesday 23rd September
- Tuesday 28th October
- Tuesday 25th November
Do let us know what films you might like to see on the Tuesday evening slot.
We are continuing with the same licensing arrangements as last time which means that we can not publicly advertise the title of the films. If you want to go on our email list to receive more details please contact us on martin@orchidserve.com.

There has been some discussion about which night of the week would be best for the Alternative Film night. One alternative to Tuesday nights, as proposed, is Saturday nights, when people don’t in general don’t have to worry about getting up early the next day. Would would you like?
Also if we did specific kids’ films would a daytime Saturday showing work, or are the youngsters (and their parents) just as happy with coming along to evening showings?
