The take over of Hartington Cheese Factory (previously part of the Dairy Crest Group) by Long Clawson Dairy Ltd has been referred to the Competition Commission (formerly the Monopolies & Mergers Commission) this week. They are gathering evidence and invite comments from interested parties by 24th October.
Their report may not be available until March 2009, prolonging the uncertainty for the 180 employees. To find out more see the Competition Commission’s News Release.
