The BBC’s East Midlands Politics Show are sending a reporter to Parwich on Wednesday morning to find out about our ideas on local democracy. Readers of PARWICH.ORG will know that Defra are conducting a consultation on direct elections to the National Park Authorities, and that there is local interest in this issue.
Parwich Parish Council support some form of direct elections to the Peak Park Authority as do 90% of those who responded to our on-line poll. Any further comments added below will be passed on to the BBC reporter.

BBC Reporter Georg Von Harrach interviewed Karen Wigley (Clerk to Parwich Parish Council), Chris Elton, Lynette Coyne and Peter Trewhitt this morning in Parwich about the idea of direct elections to National Park Authorities. He will also be interviewing the Peak Park Authority this afternoon.
It is hoped that the feature will be shown on BBC East Midlands Politics Show on Sunday.
