It’s Wednesday again and the latest issue of the Ashbourne News Telegraph is out. Because of the paper’s printing deadlines and the BLF decision to announce the Memorial Hall grant today, on a day when the most important piece of news for Alsop, Ballidon, Parwich and Pikehall breaks, there are almost no items in today’s paper that relate to our immediate area:
- p. 21 NUF Centenary to be marked locally by a visit from the national President (7-30pm Tuesday 23rd Dec at the Bluebell Inn Tissington).
- p. 60 A page spread on Tom & Camilla getting through to the Strictly Come Dancing Final (Click here to see the article).
- p.62 Cavendish Dominoes current league table positions: the Legion in third place and the Sycamore in tenth.
Here are some other items of more general interest:
- p.1 & 16 Ashbourne’s gap in NHS dental provision (click here to see article).
- p.3 Marks & Spencers plan to make a fresh bid to open a food outlet in Ashbourne (click here to see article).
- p.4 Sainsbury’s get the go ahead to extend their Asbourne store (click here to see article).
- p.6 Derby Mountain Rescue are recruiting new members.
- p.15 Tarmac announce further job losses at Western under Wood.
- p.42 JCB have issued hundreds of redundancy notices following the consultation period announced in November.
As always, let us know if we have missed any items relating to our area.
