Parwich doesn’t seem to feature very much in this week’s Ashbourne News Telegraph, but it is quality not quantity that counts.
- p1 – Shrovetide footage discovered in archive – Historic video of the game dating back to the 1920’s has been found including a clip of the late Don Lowndes preparing for his moment of glory in 1974. Don was born in Parwich.
- p17. – Clergyman bids a fond farewell – Ashbourne area’s longest serving clergyman, Rev Christopher Harrison, said goodbye on Sunday to the parishes he has served for over 12 years… He has been a member too of the Parwich village website blog team.
- p24 – Snow Snow, Thick Thick, Snow – Whilst many schools kept their gates shut Parwich opened on Thursday, one of the few schools brave enough to keep lessons going despite the thick snow.
- p46 – Weather no barrier for darts league – Parwich Legion hosted the Cock Inn and won 7-2.
