Well done so far Sandra: 7 out of 8.
A clue for number 8 is that an early 1930s book of gardens open to the public (an early precursor to the National Garden Scheme) included Parwich Hall, however it was misspelt as Parwick Hall. A company, naming a series of ******s, used this book to select the names of various ‘halls’.
It was a Great Western Railway, Hall class, steam locomotive, of course!
Too easy for you Jonathan, but could it ever have come to Alsop Station?
Probably no nearer than Crewe!
