Page 2: “Final touches added to Mercian’s march plans.” Up to 900 school children will be among supporters turning out in Ashbourne to fly the flag for the 2nd Battalion Mercian Regiment on Thursday, March 18. Ashbourne’s branch of the Royal British Legion say that around 220 soldiers will be part of the parade.
Page 6: “Patrick on Shrovetide and the election.” An interview with our MP, Patrick McLoughlin. “I didn’t take last year’s pay increase and I shall not be taking this year’s pay increase”, he tells us.
Page 8: Letters: “Our position on the Council Tax.” A letter from Councillor Andrew Lewer, Derbyshire County Council. (“Over the next 12 months, we will save cash by doing more with less.”)
Page 28: QEGS is holding a wine tasting evening in its sixth form centre on Friday, from 7.30pm. Wines are being supplied by H.Smith of Ashbourne, and there will be a buffet, with cheeses and a raffle.
