Recently the folks of Parwich, Alsop, Ballidon and Pikehall seem to have had a low profile in the news with the exception of the sports pages. This week seems no exception:
- p.2 The Ashbourne Breast Cancer Walk is at Carsington Water on Saturday 8th May. For more information see www.abcw.co.uk.
- p. 2 Parents should shortly receive notification of places for children starting primary school in the autumn. Parents who applied on-line can view their response at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions.
- p.5 Attendance figures for Derbyshire Schools have improved and are better than the national average.
- p.6 Dog walkers in the Peak District are asked to keep the dogs on a short leash to protect wild life, lambs and calves during the breeding season.
- p.6 In a national survey Derbyshire is the fifth highest region for unfaithful partners, with Devon coming top.
- p.9 Derbyshire County Council is a good place to work in the public sector according to a Sunday Times list.
- p.39 Notices for temporary closure of Madge Hill in Kniveton between 17th April 2010 to 31st September 2011 (will this impact on the B5056 diversion?), and the temporary closure and 10mph speed limit on Derby Road in Ashbourne from 19th April to 21st May 2010.
- p.46 Darts – Ashbourne Town League: Parwich Legion stand in seventh place in their Division.
- p.47 Hartington & District League: Division A Darts has the Legion in third place and the Sycamore in tenth; Division A Dominoes has the Legion in first place and the Sycamore in eleventh. Ashbourne Dominoes League: Division C has the Sycamore in tenth place.
