Arthur and Ethel Gosling spent the weekend celebrating 60 years of happy marriage. The Goslings both went to Biggin Primary School together, but the couple went their separate ways and it was not until 1943 that their lives crossed at a young farmers’ dance. The couple spent the next seven-years courting and the two married in 1950. “We were looking for a farm to live on for a number of years. In those days you didn’t get married until you found somewhere to live.” In the last 60 years, the Gosling family has vastly expanded. They now have seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren the youngest is nine-years-old.
The Goslings say there is no secret to a long and successful marriage, but it takes commitment from both sides.
