I have a couple of comments. First, I see the new booking rates for the hall have been published and that the rate for non local has been raised, the committee need to be reminded that the planning conditions imposed at the time planning consent was given on the hall does not allow for non local use of the hall, if it is booked and used by people who are not resident in Parwich Ballidon, Pikehall and Bradbourne, the committee are in breech of the planning conditions and the PP officers have the authority to shut the hall until the conditions are fulfilled. I have no doubt the use of the hall is being carefully monitored by some members of this community who were against the construction, furthermore, the way in which consent was given against the recommendations of the officers will have done the hall no favours, the hall committee cannot expect the protection of the pp planning committee if they breech conditions.

Secondly, I hear there is now a clamour for the hall committee members to resign now the hall is just opening. This next 12 months is going to be very busy for the committee members as all the building snags will need to be followed up and resolved with the contractors. there is also an urgent need to sort out the financial aspects of how the village can actually afford to run the hall! especially given the restrictions on use given in the planning consent. I hear that one major opportunity has already been wasted and that the school can have use for the next 20 years for a paltry sum already agreed by the committee, perhaps a person with business experience needs to be co-opted onto the committee to ensure a proper business plan is adopted rather than the one based on favours currently in force!
