A big thank you from the History Society to Lu and her grandson for allowing more than thirty of us to trapse through her house, and to Robert and Alice for letting us invade their stable yard.
Both Ian and I were impressed, not only by the children’s enthusiasm (especially when it came to digging up potential treasure), but also by their excellent general knowledge of the different historical periods making our task so much easier.
