Shortly before 4.10pm on the afternoon of Saturday 3rd July, two persons entered Avanti jewellers on Dig Street, Ashbourne. Both persons were wearing crash helmets. Upon entering the jewellers both offenders have produced weapons and smashed through security glass at the front of the store. A quantity of jewellery was taken in this incident and the offenders made off in the direction of Shawcroft car park. It is believed that the offenders made off on a small red motorcycle which was abandoned on the road between Thorpe & Dovedale, therefore, another vehicle believed to be involved.
Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact Derbyshire Police on 0345 123 33 33 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with any information that may assist this enquiry.
Please be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
