At the risk of repeating myself, not a very good week this week, two losses. Although the losses were not as big as last week.

Tuesday League – Home – Whitworth Park.
Penultimate match of the year, and we had a really good match this week. We won two games and so did Whitworth. The result however, was a win by one point to our opponents, 77 to 78.

Because of other results in the League we moved up a place to fourth. It would be good if we could consolidate this position in our final match of the season next Tuesday.

Next and last match – Away – 31 August – Bakewell 6.00 start.

Thursday League – Home – Hathersage.
Hathersage are top of the League and as a result of this match they will stay there. Whether we manage to stay mid table or slip into the nether regions will remain to be seen.

We failed to win any of the three doubles games and only won two of the six singles, although two of the singles losses were very close.  The result however was never in doubt and the final score was 141 to Hathersage and 111 to us.

At least we won’t have to play them next year as they will be promoted!  Only two more matches to go in this League.

Next match – Away – Matlock Golf Club – 2 September 1.45.
