It seems appropriate that after such a successful evening last night at the PP5, today Parwich.org has broken another record, which was set after the Hill Race in early July. Today we have had the highest number of hits on the blog in one day, 2478.
Thank you to everyone who uses the Blog, don’t forget to keep your comments coming in.

Who are all these people that are reading the blog? There are less than six hundred people in the community – are we all logging on 5 times a day or do we have a wider public interested in our little community? It would be fascinating to know who they are – perhaps they could be persuaded to add a comment to let us know who and where they are. John Smith from Essex would do. A comment telling us why they read our blog and what they like and dislike about it might be even more interesting.
Patti, we always have a sharp spike in traffic during Wakes Week (and particularly after the Hill Race) and for the Panoramic Five. I think this is due to a large number of non-villagers, e.g. members of running clubs, looking for scoresheets and photos. The 2478 page views include people clicking “Continue Reading” to access the longer blog posts, and they also include people clicking to enlarge photos. So for instance, if you were looking for a photo of yourself at the hill race, that would be at least 4 page views: once to land on the home page, once to expand the blog post, once to enlarge your photo, and once to go back to the blog. Hope this helps explain things…
The clue is in Mike’s comment about spikes after the races – we runners are a particularly vain lot – we love to see pictures of ourselves, and reflect on what might have been the result if we hadn’t been old/overweight/inept – or am I just talking about myself??
…and I usually have a look twice a day because I’m frightened of missing something. I’m not nosey – just socially aware!!
