One of the men had placed a plastic object over the slot on the machine and then removed it when disturbed by a customer. Crime prevention advice:
• Members of staff at premises with cash machines should check ATM’s regularly.
• Members of the community should check ATM’s carefully and avoid using them if there is a device on the machine or if anyone is acting suspiciously nearby. These offenders tend to maintain observations on the ATM during this type of incident.
• Report any suspicious activity around ATM’s to the bank or store and call Derbyshire police.
Anyone with information or CCTV near these locations should call 101, quoting the above incident number.
Thank you.
