During the evening of Tuesday 4th February, police received several reports of men going door to door in Hulland Ward and Parwich offering goods for sale.
Police are reminding residents to always check for relevant identification from callers.
Legitimate pedlars are issued with a document which is issued by the police to people who apply to sell door to door. They list the particulars of a seller and are signed by a senior police officer.
If you have any concerns about a cold caller, please contact Derbyshire police by calling 101, the non emergency number, except in an emergency when the number is always 999.
Incident number: 583 of 4.2.14 refers.

Obviously one worries about cold callers especially after dark, but the two lads in Parwich yesterday presented identification, were very polite and not pushy. I wish them all the best in their efforts to improve their CVs and seek permanent employment. It can not be easy going door to door and having to admit a criminal record.
A very Christian & charitable attitude if I may say so Peter,a shining example to us all of faith and trust in human nature,by the way they nicked some of your plants.
