Last night’s very well attended showing of St. Trinnian’s marked the end of our successful third Season (2007/2008).
We are now planning our 2008/09 Season. Up to now we have focused on mainstream block busters, but we are looking at a more varied programme next season, with possibly additional showings for children, young adults and minority interests. Do let us know what you would like to see, either by putting comments below, or by speaking to Arnold, Martin or Peter, or by emailing us on martin@orchidserve.com. We would particularly welcome input from teenagers and young adults, and would welcome any ideas how parwich film can support Project Parwich, for example you might be organising a fund raising event and would like to show a film or music videos as part of that event, or even just have photographs projected onto the screen.
Thank you to all that have supported us, to everyone that helps out with the film nights, and an especial thanks to the Memorial Hall Management Committee for setting up the group and providing our administration and accounting. We are a very good example of how new groups and new uses of the Memorial Hall can be promoted. Click here to find out more about parwich film
You have all done a wonderful job bringing such delightful
entertainment right to our doorstep. I applaud your latest initiative to engage with all the user groups and
the potential for interesting meetings, fun parties etc. that this equipment can be used for.
Could you perhaps explain some of the technical
functions of the equipments potential i.e. can we do sound recordings/music to go with the slides or films.
Would an evening class learning about how to develope these ideas be of any interest. Like the internet, I can see lots of potential for this equipment once we know its
limitations.
I particularily enjoyed St.Trinians film, made all the more enjoyable by seeing all the youngsters in the front row
jiving in their seats to the music and the grannys at the
other end of the row. A true commnity feeling. Well done!
At present we can have sound from the DVD player or video player (these are not stored at the Hall), but the sound system does not link to a laptop. This may be possible in the future, and for smaller groups domestic speakers for computers will work fine (note, you need to organise your own computer).
The idea of a meeting for people on what can be done with the projector, etc, is a good one and I will talk to Martin and Arnold, who understand the technical side much better than me.
