There was an excellent turn out for the Treasure Hunt. Unfortunately my mind is still reeling from ‘what colour is the cliffhanger in Creamery Lane’, ‘registrations over bubbles and shells’ and ‘ABs on level playing fields‘. I managed one very tasty burger before retreating to recover, so I missed the results.
It was a great evening. Well done Pippa and Alan for pitching the clues to give all a challenge, but at least ensuring the less observant amongst us (i.e. me) but not fall flat on our faces. The Legion was packed but the queue for the bar-b-q was certainly the most worthwhile challenge of the evening, next to the queue for the bar that is.
Alan if you don’t mind giving away your trade secrets, we could put the Village Treasure hunt on the Blog. (If anyone, whose brain survived the evening intact, wants to add to this post either add your comments below or email them to parwich@hotmail.co.uk)

The Committee asked us to add a special thanks to Paul Dickinson of Bradbourne for his donation of the burgers and sausages for the Bar-b-q. Paul can supply burgers, joints, bar-b-q ribs, chops and sausages (including plain pork, mustard, ginger & spring onion, country herb, apple, sage, leek, Irish, tomato and various other flavours). To find out more about ordering any of these and more contact Paul Dickinson on tel. 01335 390 250.

Pippa and Alan’s Treasure Hunt – Parwich. A group of 22
family and friends will be staying at Uppermoor Farm, February
11th-14th, to celebrate my 50th Birthday. I would like to organise
a Treasure Hunt on the Sunday afternoon (13th) for my guests around
the village of Parwich (on foot though, not chasing around in
cars). I have never organised a treasure hunt before but think it
would be an excellent way to get people out of the house to explore
your beautiful village. Pippa and Alan’s treasure hunt seems to
have been a big success, and I was wondering if they would let me
have a copy of their clues? I hope this doesn’t sound too cheeky,
and I am prepared to pay for the clues – or they could be our
dinner guests on the Sunday night when we all go for dinner at a
local pub. Are Pippa and Alan still in Parwich or has someone else
taken over organising treasure hunts? I look forward to your
replies…. Many thanks, Val (age 49 years, 11 months):)
