What better way to mark the 500th post on PARWICH.ORG, than with these images of Parwich in the morning mist?
The pictures were taken at around 5:00 this morning by “early bird” Mike G, from his vantage point on Gibbons Bank.
As the sequence progresses, you can see the first rays of morning sunlight creeping across the valley.
By the final image, the mist has started to fade, and you can see the tree tops beginning to poke through. (Best seen if you click to enlarge.)
Thanks to Mike for getting up so early, and capturing a scene that many of us would never normally get to see.

My dad and grandparents lived and owned gibbons bank until around 1983. They were John, Edna and Winston Blore. Happy memories of visiting my grandparents when I was young, and what lovely views from up there. I think anyone living there is lucky so idyllic.
I remember Gibbons Bank in August 1950 I was visiting the Blore’s with my grandma Edith Hawksworth (Blore) from winster. It was a very hot Summer and I could not walk up the hill but was carried by someone the reason being I was starting with polio and spent the each year in hospital.
