1. Find yourself a new ugly Bassist

Very little is known about this young five-piece band, whose manifesto reads “We are the stuff. We are the funk.” However, we understand that their bassist Harry “is in fact not fat or ugly”.
2. Melisma!

“From the depths of the Peak District, Melisma! pull on a range of influences to create metal/rock with pop undertones. United by a an indestructible enthusiasm for music, inappropriate humour, poor spelling and Spongebob, Melisma! are going to make noise for as long as they can.”
“We are four lads from the High Peak who love writing and playing music. We are a band who are not afraid to play what WE want to listen to. Not put off by the conventional assumption that bands these days have to fit into a ‘scene’, we are proud knowing we are not heavy enough to be branded metal and not poppy enough to be branded pop.”
“We have been around for about two years in which time we have played in various clubs, pubs, fields, balls and most bizarrely a hospital car park…! Everything we have goes into our live performances making them as exciting, energetic and spontaneous as possible.”
Songs include: Coma Scale, Burn The Shell Suit, Batman Didn’t Want To Be Famous, Mr and Mrs, What You Chose.

5. BOY COM.

“BOY COM. (short for BOY COMMUNICATION) is a nine piece Dub-Reggae-Hip-Hop collective, whose aim is to make you groove till the end of the night, even after you’ve left the venue. Its like the coolest house party you’ve ever been to: there’s plenty of booze, beautiful girls, and BOY COM. are providing your ideal soundtrack. With their new album Paraphonilia, you can expect the phatest beats, the smoothest basslines and the roaring-est brass section you’ve ever heard!”
Songs include: Come On In, Push Your Way, Travels.
Sample lyric: “I knew I’d have to face them one day. I knew this day would come. They want to rip me to shreds; they want to make me pay; they want to use my bones to pound their drums.”
6. The Fideal Effect

“The Fideal wanders through the twilight looking for lovers. Her song is sad and seductive. Her kiss is cold, tasting of earth. Her hands caress you, hold you, pull you down and down into the chill waters. You would happily lie with her forever, wrapped in her watery embrace – but she’s gone. She has returned to the dark lakeshore and you are forgotten. The Fideal sings as she walks through the weeds, calling out to her next lover…leaving you down in the water’s cold depths, eyes unseeing, weeds in your mouth.“
Influences: The Wonder Stuff, Shed 7, Hundred Reasons, My Vitriol, Taking Back Sunday, The Deftones, Incubus, Thursday, Redd Kross, Marion, Manics, Dave Gahan, At The Drive In.
