Along with the updates in our post yesterday the Design & Planning Group forwarded some more images which we have reproduced below. To find out more about the planning application for redeveloping the Memorial Hall go either to our Memorial Hall News Updates @ PARWICH.ORG or go to our page on the Proposed Plans for the new Memorial Hall.
However for a quick glimpse of the floor plan, version updated 30/7/08, click on the plan below:
The layout of the proposed new building is designed to be very flexible. To find out more detail go to our page on the Proposed Plans for the new Memorial Hall or for an idea of how it might work click on drawing below:
Here are some pictures of how the Hall looks now along with pictures of how it should look if our planning and grant applications are successful:

It looks brilliant. It is really helpful to have the existing and proposed views together.
I think the flexibility of the proposed building is excellent. How very clever to design the building so it can be so effectively adapted for a range of uses.
There has been so much hard work getting the project to this stage, you deserve success.
I agree with Fiona: having existing photos for comparison helps me to visualise the proposed rebuild a lot more clearly – especially in terms of the height of the new hall in relation to its neighbours. (Like some others, I worried that it was going to loom too large on the skyline, but I’m reassured on this now.)
I also think that the new plans have significantly improved the view from the front. The version that we saw at the last public meeting was a little too austere and featureless, whereas the new elevation adds more in the way of visual interest, breaking up the windowless wall (which I know it has to be, in order to maximise heating efficiency).
Question 1: There’s some sort of new door/window/opening just below the roof on this new street-side elevation, but I can’t find any info about this on the plans. What is it, please?
Question 2: What other specific changes have been made since the last public meeting?
