NEWS RELEASE FROM THE PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY
PR 535 – 31 October 2008
Planners hold evening surgery in Parwich
Peak District National Park Authority planners are holding a village “surgery” in Parwich on Wednesday November 12 for those who need advice closer to home or out of normal office-hours.
The Authority wants to make it easier for residents to find the right information before submitting planning applications – including suitable building designs, materials and locations, which all play a big role in keeping the National Park special.
The surgery will offer general advice from planning officers on anything from house-extensions to barn-conversions, renewable energy, business premises and more. However, as time is limited, the officers cannot deal with queries on individual planning applications.
People can either make an appointment beforehand (by calling 01629 816200), or just drop in to Parwich Memorial Hall on Wednesday November 12, between 5pm and 8pm.
Planning committee chair Hilda Gaddum said: “These surgeries make it easier for residents to get the advice they need before they submit a planning application. It helps avoid needless delays and saves everyone time and money.
“Planning is key to protecting this special place, and it’s our job to explain what our planning policies are. We want to work with residents and communities to get the best planning solutions for the area.”
Further surgeries will be held throughout the National Park in 2009 – for more details, contact planning liaison officer Wendy Ruddick on 01629 816328.
