The above group will be coming to give us a day’s teaching on what to do if you find a child in a life threatening situation.
It will be on Saturday 31st January 2009 in the Memorial Hall, and will run from 9 to 5, and will be free.
All areas of emergency situations involving children will be covered, including choking, drowning, poisoning, fits etc. We will have lectures in the morning and then spend the afternoon in (scarily) realistic scenarios outside, around the hall and in the village.
If you are a parent, a grandparent, a child minder, a teacher or just someone who would like to know how to help a child in an emergency, this course would be ideal for you.
Dr Alan Gibson, who is in charge of the scheme, is a very dynamic Consultant Paediatrician at Sheffield Hospital – I have been on this course and found it fantastic and came out of it much more confident than before I went in – I cannot recommend it strongly enough. There are also a couple of other people in the village who have been on the course. Do ring us if you would like more information on the course. And checkout the superb website at www.justafewminutes.org.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like us to reserve you a place on the day – space is limited, but we may be able to run a further day if necessary. Also let us know if you are interested but cannot make this particular date, so that we can try to arrange an alternative date for you.
Hope you come.
