As temperatures dropped well below -6 degrees, a posse of intrepid Parwichians gathered on The Green by The Church around 7pm on Friday evening hoping to stoke the boiler with tasty fish and chips. Hopes were high! It was Friday night!
As the minutes ticked by, villagers’ hope turned to doubt and then annoyance as the chip van failed to turn up. Eventually, some headed pubwards, others went to the shop whilst others just went home to search the cupboard for anything edible.
As reliability is an important requirement for a chip van, we wonder whether we can find some way for our chippie to let us know for sure whether the van will turn up next Friday……..

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear… I must have been misinformed. Or maybe I misheard? I’ve got a horrible feeling that they might have said “19th” instead of “9th” – but then the 19th isn’t a Friday, so that doesn’t make much sense.
Frustratingly, there was a phone number on the side of the van; wish I’d written it down! Did anyone else?
