It was lovely to be invited into the school this morning after a long absence (it’s twenty years since our two daughters were there). Thank you to the group of lovely girls who kindly let me join in their dancing group and for teaching me a new hand clapping routine – I really enjoyed it!
It was a pleasure to see that the school still has the vibrant heart and intimacy of a village school but it is clearly up to the minute with all the demands of education today.
Thank you Caroline (the head teacher) and all the other staff and governors who generously spent time with us.
John and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit, too. It was lovely to be made to feel so welcome by everyone, Caroline Rogers, the children, staff and volunteers.
It was all very impressive, and not least the delicious ‘proper lunch’ that Shirley in the kitchen was cooking! (I don’t suppose an open lunch next time would be on the cards…?!)
Thank you so much for inviting us. We felt privileged to share a brief insight into the lively, vital activity of the school – which up until now has gone on unseen by those of us without children of primary school age.
Thank you again, most sincerely, from us both.
Thank you for your lovely comments and sentiments, I will be sure to pass them on to everyone at school. A ‘Lunchtime’ visit has been mentioned several times since Monday morning and we are looking at how we could organise an opportunity for those interested.
We look forward to seeing everyone very soon.
