The children from the school took part in a sponsored “walking bus” walk through the village yesterday in aid of “Brake”, a charity which campaigns for safer roads for children. The slogan on the poster is “Slow Down Around Schools” as you can see from the pictures. Here are the children lining up by the cricket pitch.

Many schools around the country are participating and it is hoped that a world record will be created for the largest number of children in a walking bus at one time. Independent witnesses came along (well, a bunch of parents) to verify the children’s participation in the event.
