Thank you to a local resident for supplying the following:
Thought it may be of interest to let you know that on Saturday night (and very early hours of Sunday) 12th September in a quarry near Roystone Grange/Minninglow there was an illegal rave.
The music was extremely loud and started around 1am and continued to 5.30am. We reported it to the police and they have confirmed today (Monday) that it was an illegal rave and they have gained intelligence on it and have names and vehicle details but are unable to do anything.
It is perhaps worth people being vigilant as I think the organizers send someone round scouting for a good place a couple of nights before the event.
There are no further details on the Derbyshire Police website, but if you have anything to report the contact numbers are
- Emergency – 999
- Crimestoppers – 0800 555 111
- Ashbourne Police Station – 0345 123 3333

The rave was on our farm and although we also rung the police early Sunday morning to inform them, they haven’t contacted us since so we are grateful for the above information! The police were heading up there at around 5:30 when we rung them but when we went up at 9:30 the “ravers” were still there and the police had left.
A couple of things to look out for,a couple of days before I saw a large black van parked in the gateway leading to the site the rave was held and so assume this is when they were scouting round. There was also a lot of tape put up to help people find it.

A white van with a padlocked back door was also seen in the area a couple of days before the rave happened. I reported it to the police at 4am after a night of no sleep ( the music was that loud it was if we had a radio on in the house) , I rang them back on Monday and was told the above information.
I can’t believe there is nothing the police could of done, surely tresspassing and breach of the peace should empower them to move the people on.
