This afternoon saw the Ball Race to raise funds for next year’s St George’s Day Parade and associated festivities.
The rain stopped and the sun came out just at the right time. Some 500 balls were raced down Pump Hill, with the first three winning their owners prizes. Then all adjourned to the Legion for a barbecue. For more photos
Note, that Douglas kept an eye on the proceedings, ensuring all was above board (see the final photo).

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we have raised over £400 to pay for next year’s St George’s Day Parade (Sunday April 25th). Well done!
Another big thank you to Denis Laycock, and the Carnival and Recreation Committee for the loan of their tennis balls to the Parwich Society of St.George; their help made this fund-raising possible.
