Many thanks to Dave R who has provided the following photos of the repairs to the landslip near the Bentley Brook Inn. They were taken on Monday 3rd May.
Dave says that the road is rumoured not to re-open until the end of May. He also notes that the woods are slipping away from the retaining wall.

Unfortunately on Friday, one of the men working on the site, told a collegue of mine, that his part in the work had been pushed back and he had been told end of May.
I have just been looking at the photographs of the repairs to the road at bentley brook. As per normal the authority have made a meal of the job in hand, why are we paying for fair faced stonework that no one will see, and another free standing stone wall that will most likely split in the middle like the last expensive waste of money did, my god its a good job thier spending our money and not there own.

What is the official line from the council regarding a date for reopening?
The County Council said today that they anticipate the road will be re-opened at the end of May.
That’s a blow as the potholes on the Bradbourne Road are getting much worse. Sam is 6 months old now and has never been down that road was looking forward to showing him.
This is a pain in the arse now, why didnt they just cut into the bank a few meters into that waste of space bank with a few branches and widen the road out, would have been cheaper and would still last a lot longer. It would save time drivin on stupid single track lanes, which are about the width of a bicycle and is like driving across the grand canyon with drops down the side of the road which go into the abyss. Also to top that off you get people driving on the pants lanes like sterlin moss and dont know where their brake pedal is. Its like you have to abandon ship when you see another vehicle coming towards you. Fed up with it to be honest. And also to top this off a fraction more, the considerable amount of gogo juice i have to use to climb up the everest hills (kniveton) is a hell of alot more. Back on the pot hole situation, the ones that were supposed to be filled a year ago when the road was closed, has cost me lots of pennies also, as i have managed to break suspension, and put back the cost of repairs on the cars from driving on the stone age roads (originally made for cart horses). Ok winge over. Cant wait to get the road back.
If you think you have all got problems, spare the residents a thought between the the two two sets of road repairs. Bentley Brook end and towards the Tissington Ford outside of Horsley Farm. We often have to sit and wait whilst concrete is being poured or the digger is having fuel put in. We are just grateful to be able to get in and out, whatever road width we have to negotiate! Businesses along this length of road have been seriously affected!
