We could have had ducklings on our village pond, too, if the water irises hadn’t been shamelessly ripped out. There is now nowhere on the pond for ducks or coots to hide or nest. Shame! It just looks ugly. A suggestion was made for the Parish council to fund replacing the lost water plants, but nothing has happened. So let’s all go to Tissington to look at their pond life.
One of the ducks was actually run over! That may have something to do with it.
Maybe we could get together and plant some more irises etc???
