Tissington Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team Governance Meeting
Minutes from the meeting – 16th June 2010, 7.30pm at Thorpe Village Hall
PCSO Kate Cleveley opened the meeting and the Minutes from the last meeting were distributed. An amendment was made regarding attendance at the previous meeting.
Parking at Tissington Village
KC attended a meeting at Tissington Hall on 9/6/10 to discuss forming of a working party to find a solution to parking issues in the village. This will be known as the Traffic Management Plan (TMP). Fiona Attenborough (PA at Tissington Hall) will be coordinating an action plan to include all interested parties. Cattle Grids at entrance to Tissington village have now been replaced by DDDC Highways. This was completed quickly and efficiently although there was a brief road closure.
Priority Profile Update
KC informed the meeting that there were still no new Priority Profiles in the area.
Kniveton school parking issues were still ongoing and letters had been sent out to all parents informing them of the dangers of their actions. Regular visits to monitor the situation at appropriate times would continue.
Mobile patrols would continue around the Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team area.
KC offered information regarding Community Speed watch and that this could take place in any of the villages if requested.
4×4 Off Roading
KC stated that heavy stones had been placed at strategic points at Tissington Ford by a local farmer in an attempt to prevent ‘off readers’ damaging the surrounding verges. More enquiries are being made regarding the actual vehicles seen at the location as recent damage to fencing and signage had been reported to police.
Any other business
It was mentioned that calls to residents had been made by Readers Digest publication. After a discussion it was deemed ‘a scam’ and should anything similar should be reported to Trading Standards.
BW asked the Police to define how to spot a ‘terrorist’. IC replied that any activity that made anyone feel uneasy should be reported regardless of it being ‘terrorist’ related.
IC reported that crime in the area was minimal, there had been 11 incidents of anti-social behaviour, this was mainly in the town centre area and 3 incidents of damage which was fencing and signage at Tissington.
The meeting was closed and a date for the next meeting was arranged. The meeting will be held at Kniveton Village Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday 16th September 2010.
