This week’s Stunner has a couple of Parwich references; on p.5 there is a photograph of Janet behind the bar, accompanying an article on the 2011 Good Beer Guide which includes an entry on the Sycamore Inn.
Also on p.7 there is a short article about this Saturday’s official opening of the new Memorial Hall, including a concert by the B52s. Does this mean that the Highways Agency has down graded the band, or have they changed their name to fit in with the Memorial aspect of the Hall?

All The A52s are looking forward to watching and learning from the magnificent B52s. We’re particularly interested to see how they play ‘Love Shack’. How did Parwich get such a famous band!!??
How great the B52’s could make it for the Hall opening – looking forward to a rousing rendition of “Rock Lobster”…………………. or could it be “Dancing Queen”? – either way we’ll all have a ball!
Surely, it would be more appropriate to have the Lancasters ….
There could be a lot of disappointed A52 fans if the B52’s are playing instead.
Perhaps the A52s and the B52s could form a “super group”? The B52s could wear The Hats, and the A52s could don The Beehives. Everyone’s a winner!
What would we be called though? The M52s? The C104s? This is making my head hurt!
Perhaps you should go “civvie” – this opens up a plethora of new opportunities – The BAC1-11’s, The L1011’s, or even the Comet 4B’s…. the list is endless…..
The modern military option could work too. How about ‘The F16s’??
Just as long as you don’t become The B5056s – otherwise you might fall silent for the next 18 months!
