Free cycling help and advice in Bakewell for families in half term and at weekends.
Local families can get cycling this Autumn at three special sessions at Bakewell Agricultural Centre run by Pedal Ready, in partnership with Pedal Peak District.
The sessions will include:
- Cycling games and skills sessions
- How to be confident with traffic
- Family and group riding tips
- Maintenance advice
- Building cycling confidence
- Advice and techniques for teaching children to ride without bruises!

Participants with their own bike will be given preference – we have a small number of adult bikes only.
Session times:
Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28th –
12-1pm – How to get your child riding – advice and techniques for parents
1-4pm – Family friendly cycling session for all ages (need to be able to ride)
Friday 29th –
9.30 – 10.30 – How to get your child riding – advice and techniques for parents
10.30 – 1pm – Family friendly cycling session for all ages (need to be able to ride)
2-4pm – Family friendly ride along the trail for confident cyclists
Cycling Sundays – continue at Bakewell Agricultural Centre on Sunday mornings through October and November:
9.30-10.30 – How to get your child riding – advice and techniques for parents
10.30-11.30 – Get going sessions for beginners, wobbly returners and ‘not-yet’ cyclists
11.30-12.30 – Get going sessions for beginners, wobbly returners and ‘not-yet’ cyclists
1.00 on – Road riding tips sessions
