The blog team have received an enquiry regarding the date of this year’s Wakes Saturday. If someone could provide us with the details, so that we can pass the information on, we would be most grateful.
UPDATE Thanks to Sandra C for informing us that this year’s Wakes Saturday will be on July 2nd.

I was also asked by Ashbourne Running Club the date of the Hill Race held in Wakes week, as they wanted to put it in their diary (it is presently one of their club championship races along with the Parwich Panoramic Five). It’s provisionally in as Tuesday 28th June – is this correct????
Wakes Saturday this year will be July 2nd.
I will feed back to the Running Club that the hill race will probably be on Tuesday 5th July. It is really important that clubs know early, as these days with so many competing races, diaries fill up very quickly. Sadly many clubs will just use the same day year on year for their calendar which doesn’t work for Wakes as the weeks vary year on year. It may be one of the reasons we only attracted 50 or so runners last year. When I first ran it eight years ago, we had many more than that.
