Forgive me , but why is the mowing contract being discussed as a confidential item, are Mi5 going to be there, or the CIA. Or is there something here that you are trying to keep from the people of the parish.
Thats what i was wondering!
Yes there are times when the general public can be excluded from a meeting. The exclusion has to be voted for by a majority of Councillors present and the reason has to be stated in the motion to exclude and then recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
The most likely cases are when employment, legal matters or contracting are to be discussed, including financial information, which could benefit competitors in terms of tenders, and proposals and counter-proposals in negotiations for contracts.
