The Parsley Hay cycle centre is running a “Wheels for All” taster day on Tuesday 9th October.
The event runs from 10am to 3pm at Peak Cycle Hire’s Parsley Haycycle hirecentre on the High Peak Trail near Hartington, when you will be able to see a range of adapted cycles and take trial runs on the safe, traffic-free trail.
The Parsley Hay cycle hire centre is part of a “Wheels For All” network of more than 50 UK cycle centres with bikes for disabled or less mobile people. Knowledgable staff are on hand to get people started, and it has a choice of hand-crank cycles, wheelchair cycles, tricycles, electric bikes and an all-terrain mobility scooter. Charlotte Bowler, Cycle Hire Team Manager says “Peak Cycle Hire is quite unique in that we are one of the few, if not the only cycle hire provider in the area to have such a wide range of equipment for disabled users. The location of Parsley Hay with access straight on to the High Peak and nearby Tissington Trail makes it ideal for users to enjoy the wonderful views and fresh air of the Peak District.”
The taster day has been organised by Peak Cycle Hire, run by the Peak District National Park Authority, and Cycling Projects – a national cycling charity for people with disabilities – to raise awareness and funds for more adapted cycles, together with Pedal Peak District, our awareness-raising campaign that offers novice cyclists free information, support and incentives through thewww.pedalpeakdistrict.co.uk website.
