Our ‘Weatherman in the Village’ says:
I now have a little more sympathy for the hapless weather person trying to offer long range forecasts. If you recall I predicted Wednesday last week would offer us a small ridge of high pressure and a respite from the constant barrage of low pressure Atlantic fronts which are rattling through at the moment, dominating our weather. Well, the lull did happen, but about 6 hours later than predicted, giving an oasis of settled weather when people would have least noticed on Wednesday. The rest of the Wednesday was horrible and the week as a whole was pretty wet with over two inches of rain over the week.
The unsettled conditions continue, with a brief blustery respite today, but a return to wet and windy conditions later and into Monday. The current stormy conditions will prevail next week. We may experience the odd lull in the wind and rain. In the longer term there is a suggestion of some colder weather to come toward the end of next week.
