Our ‘Weatherman in the Village’ says:
We duly got our dry cold snap as forecast last week, with three consecutive dry days and very low temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures stayed below freezing continuously for 2 days, and a low of -7.1 was recorded at 7:30am on Thursday 13th Dec. Friday then made up for that, being particularly wet.
This week looks a little more difficult to call on a day-to-day basis, with low pressure dominating that will give us changeable weather generally and average temperatures for the time of year. Tuesday looks like it might be a bit brighter, but rain will never be far away and Wednesday looks like it will be wet. The early signs are not good for a white Christmas at this stage, but it’s still too early to be sure.
