Here is a date for your diary, an event raising funds for Mid-Derbyshire Mobile Physiotherapy:
CULLAND BURSTS INTO BLOOM FOR CHARITY
Annual Specialist Plant Fair and Open Gardens
Culland Hall, Culland, Ashbourne, Derbyshire
SUNDAY 9th JUNE 2013, 11am – 4pm
The magnificent gardens at Culland Hall, nestled in their parkland setting near Ashbourne in Derbyshire are finally coming into bloom and will host their annual open garden day on Sunday 9th June.
The Specialist Plant Fair, held in aid of the Mid-Derbyshire Association for Mobile Physiotherapy, has become an annual treat for garden lovers who have an opportunity to explore this exquisite five acre private garden and enjoy over 20 specialist nurseries (many of whom are RHS exhibitors) who will be exhibiting and selling plants on the day.
As most Derbyshire gardeners will be aware, it is a huge benefit to be able to buy rare plants from specialists who really know the area and its’ variable climate.
With over 100 varieties of roses, a huge selection of rare and specialist plants, a walled garden, woodland walk and lovingly tendered borders devoted to individual colours, the gardens at Culland Hall have been a labour of love for owner, Lucy Thompson, who holds the Mid-Derbyshire Association for Mobile Physiotherapy close to her heart. Last year alone the fair raised over £6,000 for the charity.
Home-made cakes and refreshments will be on offer in the 19th Century walled kitchen gardens and visitors will have a chance to win a Mower and hand tools kindly donated by Estate Machinery (Masseys) of Ashbourne.
Entrance: £4.00. Children Free. Free Car Park.
Culland Hall is just 6 miles south of Ashbourne and 7 miles north of Derby, off the A52 at Brailsford.
The Mid-Derbyshire Association for Mobile Physiotherapy (MDAMP) offers free mobile physiotherapy service to the housebound, based on GP referral.
