Our Weatherman-in-the-Village says:
Still having problems with the rain gauge. It looks like it was working OK on Monday, but I know we had some rain yesterday which wasn’t recorded. I think it’s the reed switch in the gauge so it might be out of action for a while. Let’s see.
The week ahead looks pretty good until Thursday or so, but then I always feel that in the UK we have 4 days or so where predictions are reasonably accurate – beyond that is “educated” guesswork. With our country being close to the Atlantic, the Gulf Stream, and the solid land mass of Central Europe, there are just too many variables to make long range weather forecasting anything other than statistical observations.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the Easter weekend – I have left the garden furniture under wraps until this weekend. Last year a week after I got them out we had a foot of snow!
