Roy M has asked us to share that the funeral for Brian will take place at Barton Church (which is just past Sockbridge on the Penrith to Pooley Bridge road) on Friday 7th November at 11.00 am.
Our sympathies are with Barbara and the family. Brian made a huge contribution to the village over the years and will be very much missed.

Brian continued an important part of our community even after he and Barbara moved to Cumbria. They were always such good friends and neighbours, even when a hundred miles away. Brian will be missed.
I am sorry I will not be able to get to the funeral, but will be thinking of Barbara and their family very much on Friday morning.
Unfortunately we cannot make it having guests here and I so wanted to attend , Brian beat me in the Hill Race one year which I could not believe , little did I know he had been training rather hard , it caused so much amusement that having heard his last operation a few days ago had been successful I was contemplating a re match . So what a great guy Brian was and such fun in the pantomimes, baron hard up comes to mind . So be thinking of the day. Colin Sims is going ( when, ? ) to provide me with Barbara’ s address . Stuart and Rosemary Chambers
Stuart, I have emailed you Barbara’s address. Brian was indeed a great character, full of fun.
Brian has been a much loved friend for 35 years. We always had a lovely Wakes with him and Barbara and he will be sorely missed in 2015. Lovely memorable days playing in Parwich pantos. Our first show together, Dick Whittington, where he played Alderman Fitzwarren brought out his comedic personality. A lovely considerate man. We are travelling from Kent tomorrow for his funeral to say our final goodbyes.
